Purplefish were briefed to launch the SPOGO (UK Active/ Sport England) website to active and non-active people in Bristol with a particular focus on hard-to-reach communities. We had to create newsworthy activation activity that would achieve cut through to the target audience, raise brand profile and generate discussion about fitness, exercise and activity-related topics. The ultimate goal was to raise active participation in exercise across Bristol.
Purplefish developed the ‘Postcode Challenge’ and ran it for 28 days. Taking just one month from brief to launch, this project involved a team of volunteers to ensure success. Events included a launch, pop up gyms across the city, and British Military Fitness days.
Publicity was generated through media relations, flyers, posters, community radio stations and targeted email marketing. Participants were encouraged to take part and log their activities on the website.
